For the cyclist looking for a challenge this unique racing experience is like no other – push yourself to the limit for 60 kms and up 1,740 metres in the spiritual Himalayan mountains of the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The first ever Dragon’s Fury Race is taking place on September 5, 2015 and is well timed to participate in before our Mystical Bhutan tour that starts on September 6.

SpiceRoads has made it easy for you to participate by taking care of all the arrangements before and after the event as well as race registration. The Dragon’s Fury Race is the first short-distance race in Bhutan to run alongside the epic Tour of the Dragon.  Billed as one of the toughest one day mountain bike race in the world the Tour of Dragon is 268 kms long and riders must climb four mountain passes!  Bargo Brothers & Backpacker Films / Bhutan Olympic Committee have developed a video about the longer 268km race.  Check it out below.

Transcript:

Within Earths tallest mountains and deepest jungles… A mysterious Kingdom exists hidden from the world. Remaining locked in a time capsule. We’ve done some hard stuff but this is freaking tough. It is here where a secret competition is known among the world’s greatest athletes…The Tour of the Dragon. Few dare to enter this one-day, 268-kilometer race. Toughest part of this race is just mountain pass after mountain pass. And only a few will succeed. Climbing the freaking mountains is not easy…this is 10 times harder than I was thinking. Sometimes I guess I have to listen to my body so I’m giving up now. They ascend the Himalayas…and descend at deadly speeds. They race until their last breath…and then among the challengers emerges one athlete who can honestly say I’m the world champion.
